# Manage your account

> Change your profile, password, passkeys and appearance, and the apps and keys that act for you.

Your account is the same in every workspace. It holds your photo and name, your sign-in, your passkeys and the look of
the app. It also holds the apps and keys that act for you. This page tells where to change each one.

## Your profile

Open **Settings** > **Profile**.

- **Add a photo** or **Change your photo**: upload a picture, then crop it before it saves. The photo is the same in
  every workspace.
- Your name: the name that people and teammates know you by.

## Your password

- To set a new password when you are signed out, select **Forgot password?** on the page of **Log in**. Troopy sends a
link by email. The link works one time, for one hour.
- A new password signs out each other session, and each app that acts for you. Troopy sends you a security email.
- An account that signs in with Google gets an email that says so, and no link.

Troopy never says whether an account exists for an address. An address gets 3 links an hour at most.

## Passkeys

A passkey is your fingerprint, your face or the PIN of your device. It unlocks the vault for 10 minutes. To see or copy
a hidden value of the vault always takes one.

1. Open **Settings** > **Security**.
2. Select **Add a passkey**, and give it a **Passkey name**, like MacBook.
3. Follow the steps of your browser. The page shows **Waiting for your passkey** meanwhile.

Your first passkey needs a sign-in from the last 10 minutes. If the page asks, type **Your password** and select
**Sign in again**. **Settings** > **Security** also lists what happened with your passkeys and private items. See
[Keep logins and secrets in the Vault](/docs/vault).

## The look of the app

Open **Settings** > **Appearance**. The choices stay on this device.

| Setting | What it does |
| ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Theme** | **Light**, **Dark**, or **System**, the same as this device. |
| **Light shade** | Daylight, the default, or Paper, Mist, Ash, Sand, Sage, Lavender, Blush or Eggshell. |
| **Dark shade** | Graphite, the default, or Charcoal, Dimmed, Stone, Obsidian, Onyx, Ink or Espresso. |
| **Animated faces** | Off keeps the faces of teammates still. Each face then keeps the still pose of its state. |

## Apps that act for you

The Troopy apps and the MCP clients that you signed in to Troopy show in **Settings** > **Security**. Select **Revoke** on
one to sign it out at once. See [Connect an AI assistant with MCP](/docs/mcp).

## API keys

An API key acts as you, in the workspace that you made it in, with the scopes that you pick. The API, the MCP server
and the CLI use it.

1. Open **Settings** > **API keys**.
2. Type the **Key name**, and pick its **Scopes**.
3. Select **Create key**.
4. Select **Copy key**. Troopy will not show the key again.

**Use it from Claude Code** gives the command to add Troopy to Claude Code. Select **Copy MCP command**. To stop a key,
select **Revoke**. See [Use the Troopy CLI](/docs/cli).

> [!WARNING]
> A key acts as you. Keep it out of code, chats and URLs. Send it in a header only.
