# Google Calendar

> Sign in with Google so that the Assistant reads your calendar for meeting prep.

Connect Google Calendar so that the Assistant reads the meetings of the next days. It prepares a brief for each meeting
with people from outside the business. Troopy only reads.

## Before you begin

- Owners and admins connect and disconnect a service.
- An Assistant in the troop. See [Hire and manage teammates](/docs/teammates).
- The Google account of the calendar to read.

## Connect Google Calendar

1. Open **Settings** > **Apps**, and select the tile of Google Calendar. Its card opens.
2. Select **Connect Google Calendar**, and sign in with the Google account of the calendar.
3. Allow Troopy to read the calendar.
4. Google sends you back. The card says "Google Calendar is connected. The Assistant reads its meetings."

Troopy reads the primary calendar of the account.

## What the Assistant reads

- The events of the primary calendar, in a window of 31 days at most.
- A private event shows only as busy time. Its title, its people and its notes stay out.

The Meeting prep routine of the Assistant uses it. Switch it on in **Routines** > **Templates**. See
[Schedule work with routines](/docs/routines).

## Disconnect

Select **Disconnect** on the card. The Assistant then says that the calendar is not connected.
