# Image providers

> Connect Google Gemini, OpenAI, fal or Replicate with your own key, and choose the model of your pictures.

An image provider makes the art of the articles of your teammates: Google Gemini, OpenAI, fal or Replicate. Each one
uses your own key, and the provider bills each picture to it. This page tells how to connect a provider and choose its
model.

## Before you begin

- Owners and admins connect a provider and change the image model.
- An account at the provider, with a key that can make images.

## The providers

| Provider | The key | The default model |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------- |
| Google Gemini | An API key from Google AI Studio. | `gemini-nano-banana-2.1` |
| OpenAI | A secret key that can use Images. It starts with `sk-`. | `gpt-image-2` |
| fal | The whole key, with a colon between its two parts. | `fal-ai/nano-banana` |
| Replicate | An API token. It starts with `r8_`. | `black-forest-labs/flux-1.1-pro` |

> [!NOTE]
> The OpenAI key also carries the voice calls of the workspace, with no limit of minutes. A key with limited access
> needs the Realtime API for calls. See [Chat with a teammate and call it](/docs/chat).

## Connect a provider

1. Open **Settings** > **AI** > **Images**.
2. Under **Image provider**, find the card of the provider, and select the link that makes the key.
3. Make the key at the provider, and copy it.
4. Paste it into the card, and select **Connect** with the name of the provider.

fal cannot check a key, so the first picture proves it. For another model, write its id when you connect. A model of
fal or Replicate must take a prompt and an aspect ratio.

## Choose the image model

**Image model** is one menu of the models of each connected provider. Pick one, or type **The id of the model**. The
pick sets the provider that makes the pictures, and its model. Without a pick, the first connected provider makes them.

## How a teammate uses it

- A teammate asks for 1 to 4 pictures at a time. The words of each picture are the only thing that leaves Troopy.
- The picture style of your brand goes with the words of each picture. See [Set up your brand](/docs/brand).
- A person reads the words, and approves each batch, unless **Art with no yes** is on.
- A workspace makes 20 pictures a day, or 60 on Ultra. A task holds 16 pictures of teammates.
- A call that timed out never goes again: the picture possibly still counts on your account.

### Art with no yes

An owner or admin turns on **Art with no yes**. Then art goes at once, within the pictures of a day of the plan. When it is off,
each batch of art waits for a yes. Work that an event from outside Troopy started still waits.

## Replace or disconnect

- A new key keeps the model of the provider.
- **Disconnect** removes the key of a provider. The next connected provider then makes the pictures.
