# Notion

> Connect Notion to import pages and database rows as docs and interviews.

Connect Notion to bring the pages and the interview notes that you keep in Notion into Troopy, images included. Troopy
reads only the pages that you pick in Notion, and never changes them.

## Before you begin

- Only owners and admins connect Notion.
- People who have Docs or Interviews import the pages after that.

## Connect Notion

1. Open **Settings** > **Apps**, and select the tile of Notion. Its card opens.
2. Select **Connect Notion**. The screen of Notion opens.
3. In Notion, pick the pages that Troopy may read, and allow the access.
4. Notion sends you back. The card says "Notion is connected. Import the pages you shared from Interviews."

To give Troopy more pages later, select **Pick more pages in Notion**, and pick them.

## Import a page

1. Open **Docs** or **Interviews**, and select **Import**.
2. Pick **Notion**. **Search the pages you shared** finds a page.
3. Pick the pages to bring in, and confirm.

- A page imports one time.
- Troopy makes the markdown of the page plain, and copies its images from the hosts of Notion only.
- An import into Docs goes into the open folder. An import into Interviews becomes an interview.
- The columns of a row of a Notion database become the properties of an interview: those with the same name, or new
  ones.

## Disconnect

Select **Disconnect** on the card. The pages that you imported stay in Troopy.

## Problems

| Message                                                             | What to do                                     |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| "Notion wasn't connected: the access was declined in Notion."       | Connect again, and allow the access in Notion. |
| "That connect link expired, or someone else started it. Try again." | Start the connection again from the card.      |
| "Notion didn't send everything back. Try connecting again."         | Connect again.                                 |
| "Notion didn't answer as expected. Try again in a minute."          | Wait a minute, then try again.                 |
| "Only owners and admins connect Notion."                            | Ask an owner or admin.                         |
