# Polar

> Connect Polar for Customers and the revenue of Analytics, and choose one organization.

Connect Polar so that Customers shows who pays you, what each one pays, who is about to leave and why they cancel.
Analytics then ties orders and renewals to the visits behind them, and shows MRR. Troopy never changes anything in
Polar.

## Before you begin

Owners and admins connect, replace and disconnect a service.

## What Troopy reads, and for what

| Product | What it reads |
| --------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Customers | Each subscription with its customer, the payments, and why a customer canceled. A read each hour. |
| Analytics | New orders and renewals every 5 minutes, and MRR. |

Polar answers disputes itself, and its API reports none. Troopy shows no dispute of Polar.

## Connect Polar

1. Open **Settings** > **Apps**, and select the tile of Polar. Its card opens.
2. Select **Open Polar**.
3. In the **Settings** of your organization in Polar, under **Developers**, create an access token named Troopy.
4. Give it `orders:read` and `subscriptions:read` only, and copy it. It starts with `polar_oat_`.
5. Paste it into the card, and select **Connect Polar**.

Sandbox tokens work too. With a personal token, add the **Organization ID**.

## Replace or disconnect

- **Replace key** puts a new token in the place of the old one.
- **Disconnect** removes the token. Customers takes the subscriptions of Polar off its customers.
