# Get help

> Find an answer in the docs, ask your Chief of Staff, or write to the Troopy team.

Use this page when you have a question about Troopy, or something does not work. It tells where to find an answer, how
to ask your Chief of Staff, and how to write to the Troopy team.

## Open Help and support

1. At the bottom of the sidebar, select **?**. A menu opens.
2. Select **Help and support**. The Help page opens.

You can also press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), type "help", and select **Help and support** under **Go to**.

The Help page has these parts, from top to bottom:

| Part | What it does |
| ------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **About the page you were on** | The guide of the page that you left, with **Open guide**. It shows only when a guide fits that page. |
| **Ask** and the name of your Chief of Staff | Opens the chat of your Chief of Staff, with "I need help with Troopy: " typed in. |
| **Write to us** | The address support@troopy.ai, with **Copy address** and **Write in Gmail**. |
| **Read the Troopy docs** | Opens troopy.ai/docs in a new tab. |
| **Guides** | Cards of 24 guides. Each card opens its guide in a new tab. |
| **What's new** and **Keyboard shortcuts** | Open What's new, and the guide of the shortcuts. |

Viewers, approvers and guests do not see the card of the Chief of Staff, because they do not chat with teammates.

## Find an answer in the docs

- Search the docs with the box at the top of the sidebar of the docs, or with ⌘K on a page of the docs.
- In the app, press ⌘K and type your question. The guides that fit show under **Guides**. Each one opens in a new tab.
- For a message that you see, search the docs for its exact words. The pages of Troubleshooting list messages with
their cause and what to do: [setup](/docs/setup-problems), [a teammate that is stuck](/docs/stuck-teammate) and
  [email](/docs/email-problems). See also the [FAQ](/docs/faq).

Each page of the docs has **Copy page**, with **View as Markdown**, **Open in ChatGPT** and **Open in Claude**. Use
them to ask an AI about the page.

## Ask your Chief of Staff

Your Chief of Staff knows your workspace, and can search and read the guides of Troopy. It can say how a part of Troopy
works, and look at what went wrong in your troop.

1. On the Help page, select **Ask** and the name of your Chief of Staff.
2. Its chat opens, with "I need help with Troopy: " typed in the box.
3. End the sentence, and send it.

The Chief of Staff answers in its chat, with links to the guides that answer. It is a teammate of your troop, not a
person of the Troopy team. To reach a person, write to support.

## Write to the Troopy team

1. On the Help page, find **Write to us**. A person of the Troopy team reads each email.
2. Select the address to open your email app, or **Write in Gmail**, or **Copy address**.
3. Send the email from the address of your Troopy account.

You can also write to support@troopy.ai from any email app.

### What to put in your email

A complete email gets a faster answer. Put in:

- the email address of your Troopy account, and the name of the workspace
- what you tried to do, and what happened in its place
- the exact words of each message that you saw: copy them, do not describe them
- when it happened, with your time zone
- for a run that failed: the name of the teammate, and the address of the run page
- for an email problem: the address of the mailbox or the inbox, and the address of the other side

> [!WARNING]
> Never send a password, an API key or the sign-in of an AI plan in an email. Nobody of the Troopy team asks for one.

## See what changed in Troopy

**What's new** lists each update to Troopy, newest first. It marks the updates that are new to you. A dot on **?**
says that an update is new. The [Changelog](/docs/changelog) of these docs shows the same updates.
