# Get started: from sign-up to your first task

> Sign up, set up your business, connect your AI plan, meet your Chief of Staff and give the troop its first task.

In this tutorial, you create your account, set up your business and launch your troop. At the end, your Chief of
Staff has its first task and your troop works on it. Plan for about 15 minutes. The cloud computer of your troop takes
about 2 minutes to start.

## Before you begin

- An AI plan that you already pay for, such as ChatGPT Plus or Pro, or Claude Pro or Max. See
  [Connect your AI plan](/docs/ai-plan) for all the plans.
- For ChatGPT: in ChatGPT, open **Settings** > **Security** and turn on device code sign-in for Codex. Troopy signs in
  to ChatGPT with a device code.
- The address of the website of your business, if it has one. Your troop reads it to learn the business.

## From sign-up to the first task

1. **Create your account**

   Open troopy.ai and select **Get started**. Select **Continue with Google**, or type your **Name**, **Work email**
   and a **Password** of 8 or more characters. Then select **Create account**.

   Troopy makes your organization and its first workspace. Setup opens at **Step 1 · Your business**.

2. **Tell Troopy about your business**

   Type the **Business name**. Add a logo if you have one: PNG, JPG or WebP, up to 512 KB. Then type the **Website**,
   or say in a few sentences **What does the business do?**. Select **Continue**.

   Your troop reads the website after the launch. The Chief of Staff drafts the Company, Glossary and Voice files of
   the brain from it.

3. **Pick your AI plan**

   Under **Choose your AI provider**, select the plan that you pay for. ChatGPT has the **Recommended** label. Read
   the note under the list: it says how the plan signs in after setup.

   Tick the box to agree to the **Terms of Service** and the **Privacy Policy**. Select **Launch my troop**. The cloud
   computer of your workspace starts now, and so does its 3-day Trial.

4. **Meet the computer of your troop**

   **Meet your troop's computer** shows the computer while it starts. Pick **Its colour**, then select **Continue**.

5. **Name your troop**

   Your teammates take their names from a theme, and each name fits its job. Pick a theme, such as Greek mythology or
   Space, or pick job titles. Select **Continue**. You can change the theme later in **Settings** > **Troop**.

6. **Pick the face of your Chief of Staff**

   Your Chief of Staff leads the troop and answers you first. Its face is a robot head. You can pick a plush bot
   instead. Select **Continue**.

7. **Answer a few questions**

   A survey of 5 short screens asks about your business, about you, what you sell and your goals. The answers fill
   the memory of your troop, and help the Chief of Staff pick the first teammates.

8. **Wait for the launch**

   **Building your troop** shows each step of the launch. It takes about 2 minutes. You can reload the page, and the
   steps come back.

9. **Connect your AI plan**

   **Connect your AI plan** signs your plan in on the computer. Follow the steps for your plan: sign in and paste a
   code, approve a code on the site of the plan, or paste a key. See [Connect your AI plan](/docs/ai-plan).

   You can select **Skip to Home** and connect the plan later. Until then, Home asks you to connect it, and no teammate
   can work.

10. **Give the troop its first task**

    Home opens. Type what you need in the message box, such as "Read our website and tell me three things to improve
    on our pricing page". Select **Send**.

    Your Chief of Staff answers in its chat. A big job becomes a task on the board, or goes to the teammate whose job
    it is.

## What you did

- You made your organization and its first workspace.
- You started the cloud computer of your workspace, where your teammates work, and its Trial.
- You connected the AI plan that your troop runs on.
- You gave your first task to the Chief of Staff.

> A person who joins by an invite does not see setup. Only owners and admins set up an organization.
