# Open and pin products

> Find every product of Troopy on the Products page, and pin the ones that you use to the sidebar.

The Products page shows every product of Troopy as a tile. This page helps you open a product, and choose the products
that your sidebar lists.

## What a product is

A product is a tool of Troopy that people and teammates work in, such as Docs, Email or the CRM. Each product has its own
pages. The sidebar lists the products that you pin. The other products stay on the Products page, one click away.

## Open the Products page

1. In the sidebar, find the **Products** heading.
2. Select **See all** beside the heading.

When the sidebar is a rail, an icon takes the place of the heading. Its tip says **All products**. You can also press ⌘K
(Ctrl+K on Windows) and type "Products".

The Products page uses the full width of the window, so the sidebar shows as a rail there. To open the sidebar for this
visit, select **Expand sidebar** at the top of the sidebar. The next visit to the page starts with the rail again.

## The products

Select a tile to open its product. The Docs tile also shows the number of docs that you did not read.

## Pin a product to the sidebar

1. Open the Products page.
2. On the tile of the product, select **Pin**.

The button changes to **Pinned**, and the product shows at the end of your pins in the sidebar. To take a product off the
sidebar, select **Pinned** again. The button says **Unpin** while the pointer is on it. A narrow tile shows only the pin
icon.

The top of the page counts your pins, for example "4 of 11 in your sidebar". Until you pin or unpin a product, the sidebar
lists Docs, Email, Canvas and CRM.

## Change the order of your pins

Drag a pinned product up or down in the sidebar. A blue line shows where the product lands.

With the keyboard, move the focus to a pinned product in the sidebar. Then press Alt with the Up arrow or the Down arrow
(Option on a Mac). Each press moves the product one place.

## What the sidebar shows

- Your pins, in your order.
- The product that is open now, under your pins, when you did not pin it. Thus its pages stay at hand.
- The pages of the product that is open, under its name. For example, the CRM lists **Lists**, **Contacts**,
  **Campaigns** and **Customers**.
- The number of docs that you did not read, beside **Docs**. When Docs is not pinned, the number shows on **See all**.

## Your pins are yours

Each person has their own pins, and each workspace has its own set. A change of your pins changes nothing for other
people. Thus viewers, approvers and guests pin products too.

## Products that you do not see

An owner or admin can give a person only some products of a workspace. The Products page and the sidebar show only the
products that you have. A page of a product that you do not have does not open. A guest sees only the products that
someone shared with it.

If you need a product, ask an owner or admin of the workspace. [Invite people and choose their roles](/docs/people) tells
how they give products to a person.

## The pictures on the tiles

Each tile shows a picture of its product. The picture uses some names of your workspace: your business, its logo, its
website, your name and the names of your teammates. The rest of each picture is an example, not your data.

## Pins in the API

The API reads and sets the same pins. `GET /me/products` lists the products that you have, with the products of your
sidebar first. `PATCH /me/products` sets your pins, in the order that you send. A product that you leave out goes off the
sidebar, and stays on the Products page. In the CLI, the commands are `troopy products list` and `troopy products pin`.
