# Talk to your troop on Telegram

> Link your Telegram, give the workspace a bot of its own, and answer approvals from your phone.

You can talk to your Chief of Staff from Telegram. It answers there, passes work to the right teammate, and asks before
anything important, with a tap to approve. Everything also shows in Troopy. This page tells how to link your Telegram,
and how to give a workspace its own bot.

## Link your Telegram

The link is personal: it links your Telegram to you, in this workspace.

1. Open **Settings** > **Apps** > **Telegram**.
2. Select **Connect Telegram**. Troopy makes a link.
3. Select **Open Telegram**, then tap **Start** in Telegram. The link works one time, for 10 minutes. Do not share it.
4. The page shows **Connected**, with your Telegram name.

One Telegram account links to one person in one workspace. To stop, select **Disconnect**.

## Talk to the Chief of Staff

- Send a message to the bot. It starts a conversation with your Chief of Staff, or continues the last one.
- A message continues the latest conversation of the chat for 6 hours, or the conversation that a reply points at.
- Send /stop to stop an answer.
- When a call needs your yes, the bot shows **Approve** and **Deny**. A tap decides as you.

Troopy checks your access again before it sends anything to Telegram. A link in an answer shows its address, and
Telegram shows no preview of it.

## Give the workspace its own bot

At first, the Chief of Staff talks to you through the shared bot of Troopy. An owner or admin can give it a Telegram bot
of its own, named after the Chief of Staff, for this workspace.

1. Link your Telegram first.
2. Select the button **Create Rex's bot**, with the name of your Chief of Staff. Telegram opens, and asks you to confirm.
3. Tap **Create** in Telegram. The bot is yours. The page updates when the bot is ready.

This is easiest on your phone. The desktop app of Telegram may not open the link yet. You can also tap the button that
the shared bot sends you.

The bot of a workspace lets in its owner and up to 10 other people who connect their Telegram. When the Chief of Staff
gets a new name, Troopy renames the bot. To stop the bot, an owner or admin selects **Remove bot**.

## Still true?

Once a week, on a weekday in the working hours of the business, the bot can ask you about notes that you said. Answer
**Still true**, **Not anymore** or **Ask me later**. For **Not anymore**, the bot asks you first. See
[Manage what your troop remembers](/docs/memory).
