Meta Ads
Sign in with Facebook so that Analytics shows the spend and the ROAS of your campaigns.
Connect Meta Ads so that Analytics shows the spend of each Meta campaign beside the visitors and the revenue that it brought, and its ROAS. Troopy only reads.
Before you begin
- Owners and admins connect and disconnect a service.
- A Facebook account that can see your ad accounts.
- Analytics set up with your website. See Set up website analytics.
Tag your ads
Analytics joins a campaign to its visits by the URL parameters of the ads. Add these parameters to your ads:
utm_source=meta&utm_medium=paid-social&utm_campaign={{campaign.id}}&utm_content={{ad.id}}A visit belongs to the campaign whose id is its utm_campaign, else to the campaign of the same name. For paid social
visits, it also joins when one name holds the other.
Connect Meta Ads
- Open Settings > Apps, and select the tile of Meta Ads. Its card opens.
- Select Connect Meta Ads, and sign in with Facebook.
- Allow Troopy to read your ad accounts.
- Facebook sends you back. The card says "Meta Ads is connected. Its campaigns show in Analytics, under Sources."
Choose what to track
On the card, choose the ad accounts and the campaigns to track. The totals of Analytics count only what you track.
What Analytics shows
| Place | What it shows |
|---|---|
| The ROAS tile of the dashboard | The return on the spend of the tracked campaigns. |
| The Campaign tab, under Sources | The spend and the ROAS of each campaign beside its row. |
For each campaign: the spend, the reach, the visitors, the conversion, the revenue and the ROAS. Troopy keeps the numbers of Meta for one hour. The Growth analyst reads the same numbers with its tools.
Disconnect
Select Disconnect on the card. Analytics then shows no spend and no ROAS.
