Teach the brain about your business
Add sources, let Troopy learn your website, search what the troop knows, and keep the records of people and companies.
The brain is what your troop knows about the business. It holds the docs, the pages of your website and the files that people add. It also holds the notes that teammates save, and the records of people, companies and products. Teammates search it before they answer. This page tells how to fill the brain and search it.
Open the brain
Select Brain in the dock at the bottom of the sidebar. The page is What your troop knows. Its tabs are Knowledge, Memory and Brand.
Knowledge has these parts:
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Search the brain | A search of everything that the troop knows. |
| People, companies and products | The records of the brain. Each record is a doc. |
| Learned from | The sources: the pages, files and notes that the brain learned from. |
Search the brain
Type in the search box, such as "refund policy" or "who handles Acme". The search finds by words and by meaning. It reads the docs, the interviews, the reports of research and the sources. A hit opens its doc or its source.
Teammates use the same search. An answer cites what it used, as chips under the answer.
Learn your website
Troopy reads the website of the business when the computer of your troop finishes its launch. To read it again, or to read another site:
- Open Learn your website.
- Type the Website address.
- Select Learn it. The orb shows while Troopy reads the site.
Troopy reads the site in the browser of the Chief of Staff, then adds its pages as sources. The pages of the own website of the workspace can also answer the visitors of your support bot. See Answer visitors with a support bot.
Remember something
- Select Remember something.
- Type a Title, like "Wholesale pricing", and What to remember.
- Select Remember. The page says "Saved to the brain."
Teammates find the note from their next run. To add a file, attach it in a chat or on Home: text, PDF and Word files go to the brain. A file has 10 MB at most.
Records of people, companies and products
A record is a doc about one person, one company or one product. Teammates write and update records with what they learn. Records show under People, companies and products, and open as docs, with Brain as their way back. A record of a person or a company never goes to the public support bot.
Sources
Each source shows where the brain learned it: a page, a file or a note. Open a source to read its whole text.
- Forget removes a source. Teammates stop finding it.
- Restore brings a forgotten source back.
Who can do what
- Owners, admins and members add notes, files and sites, and forget sources.
- Viewers and approvers read the brain.
- Guests have no brain. A guest opens no record.
