Before you start
What is Troopy?
Troopy gives your business a troop of AI teammates, each with a job, in one app. They work around the clock, use tools that Troopy builds in, and ask a person before they do a thing that people rely on. See What Troopy is and how it works.
What do I need to start?
An AI plan that you already pay for, such as ChatGPT Plus or Pro, or Claude Pro or Max. A plan with an API key works too. See Connect your AI plan.
Which AI plans can my troop run on?
ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, OpenRouter, Z.ai, Kimi, MiniMax, Qwen, the Anthropic API and the OpenAI API. You can connect more than one, and set the order in which teammates use them.
What does Troopy cost?
Each workspace has its own plan: Pro is $49 a month, and Max is $99 with room for 50 teammates on a bigger computer. Ultra is $199 with room for 100 teammates and more work, and a year costs the price of 10 months. Your first workspace starts with a 3-day Trial of the plan that you pick, on your card. People are free. See Pick a plan for a workspace.
Does Troopy charge me for the work of the AI?
No. The work of your teammates runs on your own AI plan. A plan with a key that bills each use costs more when the troop works more. Troopy shows the spend of each run for such a key.
How long does setup take?
About 15 minutes. The cloud computer of your troop takes about 2 minutes to start. See Get started.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Troopy runs in your browser. The work runs on a cloud computer that Troopy starts for each workspace.
What the troop can do
How do I give my troop work?
Send a message to a teammate, write in the troop chat, or make a task. See Give your troop work that it can finish.
Which teammates can I hire?
A Chief of Staff is in every workspace. You can hire these roles:
- for content and sales: a Content writer, a Social media manager, Outreach and a Competitor watcher
- for research and numbers: a Researcher, a Churn watcher, a Product analyst and a Growth analyst
- for the business and the product: an Assistant, an Engineer and a QA tester
The Chief of Staff can also draft a custom role. See Hire and manage teammates.
Do teammates work when nobody asks?
Yes, with routines and triggers. A routine runs on a schedule. A trigger starts a teammate when something happens. See Schedule work with routines.
Do teammates keep working when I close the app?
Yes. Teammates work on the cloud computer of the workspace, not in your browser.
Can teammates use a web browser?
Yes. Each teammate has its own Chrome on the cloud computer. You can watch it live and take over. See Watch the computer of your troop.
Which services can my troop read?
Stripe, PostHog, GitHub, Notion, Hunter, Lemon Squeezy, Polar, Paddle, Dodo Payments, Google Search Console, Google Calendar and Meta Ads, and the image providers for pictures. See the Apps tab of these docs.
Can teammates send email?
Yes. Each teammate has its own email address. An owner or admin approves each email that it sends. Campaigns send from the mailboxes of your business, after a person approves each email. See Use Email and the inboxes of teammates.
Can I talk to my troop from my phone?
Yes, from Telegram. See Talk to your troop on Telegram. You can also call a teammate by voice in its chat.
Control and safety
What can teammates do with no yes?
They read, write drafts and docs, comment and make tasks. A call that posts, sends, pays or deletes waits for a person. See Stay in control of your troop.
Can teammates spend my money?
Only with a card that an owner or admin puts in the Vault for them, within its limits. An owner or admin says yes for each payment. See Keep logins and secrets in the Vault.
Can teammates see my passwords?
No. Troopy types a password for a teammate, only on the own site of the login. A teammate names a login by reference.
Can I let some work go with no yes?
Yes, with a grant of an owner or admin, within limits. The grants are Autopilot of a campaign, auto-release of engineering tickets, the evidence of Stripe disputes, and art with no yes.
Can other people use my workspace?
Yes. Invite them, and give each a role: owner, admin, member, approver, viewer or guest. See Invite people and choose their roles.
Can I have more than one workspace?
Yes. An organization has a workspace for each business, brand or client. Each workspace has its own computer and its own plan. See Use organizations and workspaces.
When something goes wrong
Why does my teammate not answer?
Its AI plan can be out of usage, it can be at its daily limit, or it can wait on a person. See Fix a teammate that is stuck.
What happens when my AI plan reaches its limit?
Teammates move to the next plan of your list until the plan resets. With no other plan, the work waits. See Choose AI plans and models.
Where do I see what went wrong?
On the task, on the run, and in Activity. See See what your troop did.
Setup failed. What now?
See Fix setup problems.
Your account and data
How do I get my data out?
An owner or admin downloads a backup of the workspace as one JSON file. See Download a backup.
How do I contact support?
Write to support@troopy.ai. See Get help.
