Work with your troop

Use the bell, and choose which events reach you in the app and by email.

Troopy tells you when a teammate needs you, finishes work or replies to you. It tells you in the bell of the app, by email, or both. This page tells how to use the bell and how to choose what reaches you.

The bell

The bell is in the dock at the bottom of the sidebar. Its count says how many notifications you did not read.

  1. Select the bell. A popover shows the newest notifications.
  2. Select a row to open what it is about. The row is then read.
  3. Select the X on a row to dismiss it. The same event does not bring it back.
  4. Select View all to open For you of Activity, with the whole list.

The count of the bell asks the server every 30 seconds while the tab shows. To open a task, a conversation, a thread or a doc marks its notifications read too.

Choose what reaches you

Open Settings > Notifications. Each event has a switch for the bell and one for email. Your choices are your own, and hold in every workspace.

Who hears of what

  • A decision and a review go to the people who follow the task and to the person who asked. If nobody follows it, they go to the people of the workspace.
  • A call that only owners and admins can approve goes to them only.
  • You never hear of what you did yourself.
  • News of a task goes to the people who follow it. Select Watch on a task to follow it.
  • New mail of a teammate goes to the people of the workspace who have the Email product.
  • A guest hears only of the tasks that it follows.

Email

Troopy sends notifications by email in batches. A notification waits a minute for the rest of its burst. One email goes to you from a workspace every 5 minutes at most. A notification that you read in the app before then does not go.

An email names what waits on you first. A decision shows its options as buttons. A button opens the task with that answer marked. Only a click on the task answers it.

Your week

On Monday from 8:00, in the time zone of the workspace, Troopy sends the week of your troop. It says in numbers what the troop did, and what waits. A week with no work sends nothing.
