Look up each status of tasks, teammates, runs, routines, campaigns and email, and what it means.

Each piece of work in Troopy shows a status, as a word, a mark or a dot. This page lists the statuses of tasks, teammates, runs, routines, research, email, customers, tests, incidents and disputes, and what each one means.

Tasks

StatusWhat it means
BacklogNobody works on it. A new task for a person or for nobody starts here.
To doReady to start. A new task for a teammate starts here. A teammate starts only on a task in To do.
In progressSomeone works on it now. When you move it out of In progress, Troopy stops the run of its teammate.
Needs youThe teammate asked a question, or a call waits for your yes. The last answer starts it again.
In reviewThe teammate finished. A person looks at the work, then moves it to Done or sends it back.
DoneFinished.
CanceledNobody does it.

Troopy sets Needs you by itself. You cannot pick it in the menu of a status. An assignment never changes the status of a task. See Track work on Tasks and projects.

Engineering tickets

An engineering ticket also shows its step: Analyze, Plan, Build, Test or Release. Its status still says who has it now. A ticket that is ready to release is at Release and In review. A released ticket is Done. See Ship code with engineering tickets.

Projects

StatusWhat it means
PlannedThe work did not start.
ActiveThe work goes on.
PausedThe work stopped for now.
CompletedThe project is done.
CanceledNobody does the project.

Teammates

The header of a teammate and the rows of Settings > Troop say what the teammate does now:

What you seeWhat it means
Working, with the thinking orbA run goes on now. The line names the work, when it can.
Paused, with a yellow dotThe teammate starts nothing until a person resumes it.
Last active, with a green dotThe teammate worked today, and waits for its next job.
Last active, with a grey dotThe teammate last worked before today.
Waiting for a first jobThe teammate never worked yet.
A glowing ember on the faceThe teammate needs you: a task in Needs you, or a call that waits.

See Hire and manage teammates and Fix a teammate that is stuck.

Runs and calls

A run is one go of a teammate at a piece of work. The runs of a teammate show on its Overview.

Run statusWhat it means
StartingThe run waits for its turn on the computer.
WorkingThe teammate works on it now.
DoneThe run ended with an answer.
FailedThe run stopped. The run page says why.

Each call of a tool in the steps of a run shows Running, Done, Failed, Waiting for you or Refused. A refused call is a call that Troopy did not run, such as a call past a limit of the run.

Approvals and drafts

StatusWhat it means
Waiting for youAn approval waits for a yes or a no.
ApprovedA person said yes, and the call ran.
DeniedA person said no.
FailedA person said yes, and the call failed.
Ready for youA draft waits for a person to use it. Troopy never sends a draft.
UsedA person used the draft.
DiscardedA person put the draft away.

See Answer what needs you.

Routines

StatusWhat it means
ActiveThe routine runs on its schedule, or when its event comes.
PausedThe routine does not run until a person turns it on again.
Off, in greyA template of the role of the teammate. Its switch turns it on.
Needs a lookA filter: a routine that did not start, a trigger that waits for its secret, or a lost teammate.

An event of a trigger that started nothing says why, such as "Not run: the limit of the day". See Schedule work with routines and Start work when something happens.

Research

StatusWhat it means
Waiting to startThe research waits for the Researcher.
ResearchingThe Researcher searches and reads now.
Needs youThe Researcher asked you a question.
Ready for reviewThe report is ready. Read it, then mark it done.
DoneThe research is finished.
CanceledThe research stopped.

See Get answers with Research.

Email and campaigns

Campaign statusWhat it means
Not startedA draft. Get it ready, then select Start.
SendingThe campaign sends its emails in the sending hours.
PausedThe campaign sends nothing until you start it again.
EndedThe campaign is over.
Email statusWhat it means
DraftNobody sent it yet.
ScheduledIt goes at its time.
Did not goIt failed: the mail server refused it, or it bounced.
Possibly sentTroopy does not know if it went. Troopy never sends it again by itself.

A mailbox is Active, Paused or Disconnected. A disconnected mailbox needs a new app password. A sorted reply is Interested, A question, Not now, Not interested, Away, Wrong person or Unsubscribed. See Send email campaigns and Fix email problems.

Customers

StatusWhat it means
ActiveThe customer pays a subscription.
TrialThe customer tries the product before the first payment.
Past dueA payment is late.
CancelingThe customer asked to cancel, and the subscription still runs.
ChurnedA paid subscription ended.
Paid onceThe customer paid one time, with no subscription.
FreeA user of the product who never paid.

A trial that ends unpaid is not churn. An item of the roadmap is Idea, Planned, Building, Shipped or Declined. See Understand your customers.

Tests and incidents

Test statusWhat it means
ProposedThe QA tester proposed the test. A person makes it active.
ActiveThe test runs in the checks of its place.
PausedThe test does not run.

A test run ends as Passed, Failed, Couldn't test or Canceled. Each check is Passed, Failed or Not checked. A problem is a Blocker, Major, Minor or Nit. See Test your product with the QA tester.

Incident viewWhat it shows
OngoingThe open incidents, and those whose ignore ran out.
NewThe ongoing incidents that started in the last 24 hours.
Came backResolved incidents with a new error.
ResolvedThe incidents that a person resolved, or a fix resolved.
IgnoredThe incidents that a person ignores for now.

The look of the QA tester says Needs a fix, Watch it or Noise from outside the app. See Catch the errors of your apps.
