Work with your troop

What Home shows: the message box, what needs you, the routines of today and the routines to hand over.

Home is the first page of the app. It greets you, gives you a message box to the troop, says what needs you, and shows the routines of the day. This page tells what each part of Home shows, and when it shows.

Open Home

Select Home at the top of the sidebar. Home fits a laptop screen with no scroll. Its two rows of routines scroll sideways.

A guest has no Home. A guest opens on the first product that someone shared with it.

Send a message from Home

  1. Type in the message box. The box says Ask your Chief of Staff anything, or hand over a job....
  2. To write to another teammate, select the face beside Send. The Send to menu lists the troop.
  3. Select Send, or press Enter. Shift with Enter starts a new line.

The chat of the teammate opens, and its answer comes there. The box has more:

ControlWhat it does

/ at the startOpens the skills, so that the teammate uses one.
AttachAdds text, PDF or Word files. Files go to the brain, where everyone in the workspace finds them.
Add a doc, task or interview to readAdds a doc, a task, an interview, a research or a canvas for the teammate to read.

See Give your troop work that it can finish.

What needs you

The line under the box says, for example, "3 things need you, about 4 minutes." The time shows only up to 10 minutes. Select the line to open Needs you. See Answer what needs you.

Today's routines

Each chip is a routine that runs today, in the time zone of the workspace. A chip shows the time, the face of the teammate and the title. A routine that runs many times a day shows one chip. Select a chip to open the routine.

Routines to hand over

Each card is a template: work that a teammate of a role does by itself. A card says what the routine does, and who does it. Owners and admins switch a template on from its card. See all templates opens Routines > Templates. See Schedule work with routines.

Connect an app

An owner or admin of a workspace with no connected app sees a card: "Your teammates read Stripe, GitHub, Notion and more after you connect them." Connect an app opens Settings > Apps. Not now puts the card away for 14 days.
